The roof fell I heard it and saw it the gym floor is almost rotted and there is no mold though

There is nothing wrong with the Carver school. Its a waste of tax payers money to build a new school at Earnest Ward when there is a perfectly good one in Century. I don’t see why everyone had such a problem with Carver. In fact, 4 of the top 5 students in my class came from Carver.

REGARDING:

Please don’t confuse buildings with a school. The buildings were not F buildings. The performance of the students who were attending at the time led to a low grade. it was closed because it was too expensive for the few who were still attending after being given the chance to go to Byrneville, Bratt and EWMS.

For a while after Hurricane Ivan, Longleaf Elementary School was housed in Belleview Elementary School buildings. A school is the teachers and students (much like the way a church is the members, not the building). I believe one met from 6 am until noon and the other from noon to 6 pm or something like that.

Ernest Ward Middle School could be housed anywhere, including in the vacated buildings in Century. I’m not suggesting it should be done, just saying it COULD be done. There is no state law forbidding it. I don’t think they could house all the students and you’d have to deal with the parents who’re scared of the people of the Town of Century but that’s another matter.

You could also change the start times and put them all in the Ransom Middle School buildings after Ransom’s regular hours, say from 6 PM to 2 AM or so. Nobody would like it and it would be more expensive than simply fixing the roof and heating, but once again, there is no law stopping you.

Because it was an F school state would not allow it….thank the admin, teachers, parents, students as that was what was to happen but the failing school took care of that. Also I think everyone who has all the answers on here needs to run for supt office while you have all the answers:)

It’s a waste, but it doesn’t matter how new the buildings are if people won’t go there. Unless they’ve changed the laws recently, most of Ernest Ward Middle School buildings will have to be replaced fairly soon because it does not comply with current building requirements, so the new roof on the gym will have company–maybe toward the back like the other writer wanted.
