Good grief – quit complaining, we’ll takem over here on the coast – anything that draws 1800 plus people out on a Saturday afternoon can’t be all that bad now can it?

As I said before I think the Redneck Parade is teriffic. I have always enjoyed going. This year however we purposely stayed away because of Bonfire Jam. We have experienced the bad traffic in the past and really didn’t feel the traffic would be any better with all the tickets from the concert sold. I never thought of al the beer and alochol that would be consumed. I do agree with Liza, her property is her property. She should not have to clean up her front yard after the parade because of irresponsible people. Agreed, most trucks and cars are parked on the county right-away. Still pick up your trash so no one else has to. It also might be a thought for the Parade Committee to take those golf carts and gators that they ride the parade route with and pick up after the slobs that left the mess. It would be the neighborly thing to do!

This is an annual event, and we never know how many people will show up. We decided to have the parade on Saturday because there are four churches in our area and this being an all day event would intrude on their services. I am very proud to be a part of this organization, I love to be able to shop for families and children that otherwise might not have a Christmas. There will be meeting in the future to try and make the event go a little smoother next year. I hope everyone had a great time. Merry Christmas!

I went to the parade with my kids. I don’t agree at all that it is a racist parade but i didn’t like all the drinking. My 8 year old had beer spilt all over him. It’s sad that you can’t take your kids to a family event without someone causing problems. However i am glad that it is for charity. Hats off to the people who donate their time to help disadvantage people. I just think that we can do without all the drinking. CHRISTmas is about Jesus you don’t expect to see drinking with that.

I really think they need to move the parade back to Sundays, to avoid the drama of alcohol.. To many people go hurt and the ones that drank trashed the area… I think the only reason that it got changed to saturday is for the county or who ever to make money on the beer at the Bonfire Jam.. I live in the area, actually near the school, and next year i will do my best and so will the others in the area to have it someplace else.. I do not pay taxes on my property to have some idiots trash my yard.. ..

There would have been 18,002 but we got tied up in traffic. Man, I can’t believe I missed it. I was looking forward to going, but got a late start. The traffic was backup up 6 miles south of Chumuckla by 1pm. Is there any wide open spaces that can be opened up so the traffic can flow in and out easier next year?

I do wish the article would have pointed out the main purpose of the parade. To raise money for charity. How can anyone be against that? Surely not even an educatedsthrnwoman.

I was unable to attend so thanks for the pictures. Wish there were some of the horses. Their owners work hard grooming them and putting ribbon and bow’s in their
mane and tails.
