I understand the costs involved when it comes to road work and resurfacing. We lived in a private subdivision owning the roads (not county owned) on 2.7 miles of road with no drainage issues each property owner had to put out $2,200.00. This was the after 5 bids and 5 months of research.
So way to go Century and Flomaton-----what improves our town and saves money is always a good thing. A+ when it comes to making Century and Flomaton better looking for potential investors and making things better for all.

Some people just don't understand that this stuff is bought in bulk. If they are piggybacking off the county contract, there is no way the town of Century could purchase enough material to get the price break they can. I"m sure if you wanted to look at the bidding process for the county you could look it up. I"ve worked with companies all over the united states that do the same thing. It's a pretty expensive operation to start up an asphalt plant.

Of course you don't need to get bids....it's Roads, Inc. After all.....
we believe you .....no need to see if someone could really beat their bid......
and I'm sure there is nothing in it that would even resemble kick backs!
