It is about time -- I would like to know why Gulf Power hasn't given us a rate decrease sooner considering the fact that natural gas and coal prices have been very low for a year or longer now, but I will take it -- anything beats the constant rate increases that we are used to getting.

Gulf Power -- what took you so long and why such a low percentage decrease-- coal and nat gas prices have been very low for a year or more now? I will take the rate decrease though, it is far better than getting the frequent big rate increases that we have become accustomed to receiving.

Just in case you all don't know about this let me tell you this trick.
There was a mention about this in news but maybe you all missed it.
I have done it for years and it saves lots of money on your winter heating
bills

Buy Electric dual control blankets for your beds and turn your heat in
the winter almost off at night. Then turn it up about 4 in the A.M a little.

Turn it up even higher during the day and weekends when your all home.

Just turning it off in the winter nights will save you a bundle and you will
still be snuggie warm in bed. Keep slippers by the beds for the children
as the floors will be cold.

Hope this helps you all through the holiday season.
From my family to yours.

Now if EREC would follow Gulf Power in lowering bills we could all be happy. I will not hold my breath waiting for this to happen. I think high bills are here to stay. Come on, EREC, make your customers happy for Christmas!

Didn't Gulf Power and/or Alabama Power lower their rates last year too? EREC increased last year didn't they? Seems to me my rates since I moved from Molino to Walnut Hill a couple of years ago seem a great deal higher.

Gulf Power -- why has this been so long coming -- coal and nat gas prices have been excessively low for over a year now, but I will take the decrease because anything beats the constant increases that we normally get hit with.

That goes to show that when gulf power needs money {not want} they raise the rates. When they don"t need the money, they lower the rates. Good for all customers.

Why doesn't Escambia River Electric Co-op join with ECUA and reduce our electric bills? Gulf Power rates were already lower than EREC and now they are even going lower! Something is definitely wrong here!
