i would venture to say….the company that did her background check and, or the company that employed her will be primarily liable for any injury to this disabled individual…perhaps they neglected to give her proper training or she simply decided to follow her own rules…obviously, adequate supervision (over the employees) was lacking…is the Community Outreach program operated by escambia county?…you would think that with so many folks looking for employment, these days, they could find a more mature, presentable and responsible attendant.

Oh my….. I try not to judge a person on looks alone, but given the severity of this case… would YOU let THIS person care for your mother or father? Wow, I mean…. SERIOUSLY?

That’s why she is his caregiver…..he needs someone to look after him whether it be a mental or physical disability. Putting him on the moped was HER decision any way you look at it. She was the responsible party as she was on duty. The company she works for has some explaining to do also. A change of policy and closer background checks seems to be needed.

The story is a bit vague….the man was disabled (mentally, physically..???). His disability may be why he required supervision….may not have been capable of making those decisions. He also may have WANTED to go for a ride on the moped. There could be a thousand reasons why the ‘adult male’ wasn’t being responsible for his own actions. Often there is much more to the story.

I agree that her actions are horrible…but at some point couldn’t the ADULT male have said…”I don’t want to get on the moped”? I understand he was under her care, but how much responsibility does the adult male have for his own actions?
