I agree ashton..what a disappointment. I grew up in Holt Subdivision and it was always such fun going door to door then rushing home to hand out candy to all the remaining trick or treaters. I was told by the town clerk that halloween was going to be recognized the 21st because of all the down town festicvities but it was the same way that night. Just a handful of trick or treaters and maybe 5 people handing out candy. What has happened to tradition??? Just because they are doing these events downtown why should that take away from our kids going door to door? I am not knocking the vendors who are downtown I really think that it is great to donate your time and money to the community!! I just feel the town should still recognize a normal night and time not 10 days early for traditional door to door fun. I could understand if we lived in a town full of gangs and violence not going door to door. But as for me and my family we enjoy going door to door to those people we know and trust because that is the privelage of living in a town where everyone knows everyone. Please do not take tradition away from our kids!!!

For everyone interested: Flomaton First Baptist Church is having their Fall Festival tonight (Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010) from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Its located this year in the Fellowship Hall and surrounding rooms (Pre-School games are located in the Pre-school building) and the theme is “The Great Tomb Raid–discovering the power of Jesus”. We’ll be passing out plenty of candy as an “archeaologist” guides the children to different games and “exhibits”. Should be lots of fun for all! The children are encouraged to come in costume.

Went to Holt Subdivision tonight and it was sad. There were only about 5 houses handing out candy, I didn’t see but a hand full of kids out up there either. Did I miss something? Holt Subdivision used to be the happening place…………

Abundant Life Assembly of God in Century will be having a Fall Fest today (Saturday) from 5 until 8. Everyone is invited and everyone will receive 10 free tickets.

Thank you for all this information. We live were trick or treating is impossible because of distance to others. We usually go to the festival at the Victory Assembly of God but this gives us a lot of more choices! Thanks again, William!
