The traffic is to fast from the red light in Century up to the over pass North of Century on Century Blvd i live off Century Blvd its getting hard to get onto Century Blvd the triffic is getting bad there is a curve at Ann Brooks CPA office the 18 wheelers look like they are going to flip they go to fast,, just the main strip there is a speed limit BUT some people dont do the speed limit

Good job, ECSO! Speeders on Hwy 29 & Hwy 97 are an everyday thing. I wish the ESCO would set aside a day every week (not same day) to get their quota of speeders. It won’t take long. When hwy.97 is finished it will just get worse. Not a pleasant thought. The road is really going to be great when it’s finished but it is NOT a race track.

I support the law enforcement upholding the speed limit of 35 in Century.

Whenever we drive 35 through there and everyone else is doing 55 or 60,
it just makes my blood boil and I always say, I wish the cops were here now
to catch these people not obeying or respecting the law. It’s not fair to the few
who obey the speed limit and the majority don’t and get away with it.

Well that’s just like they stop for a funeral processions,
but they don’t stop for a ambulance!

So I guess the dead guy is more important than the guy who is still alive
and needs to get to the hospital so he doesn’t end up in hearse.

I wonder if Mr.Cottrell got a ticket? or maybe someone in his family???You can stand in front of my buiulding everyday at 2:15 or so and watch cars pass a stopped school bus with its lights on and arm out.Think that stops them ? NO ! I am just glad the kids are not having toi cross highway 29

not that i don’t love you, SW, but the only law enforcement in Century is the Sheriff’s Department. FHP is nearly never there because they usually have a wreck somewhere else to work. Some folks in Century wander across the road as if they own them. Some drivers drive the same way. Every now and then the two groups meet and it can get messy. I figure if they are around, they are around for other matters too.

Funny that someone would go to the city council to complain about the Sheriff’s department. Why not go complain to the Sheriff?

I guess I’m the one David is talking about not liking Deputies working traffic as a primary duty; I’d much rather see those FHP Troopers doing it-after all it is one of their primary duties. I have said before that I sincerely think that the Sheriff’s Deputies should be patrolling the unincorporated areas and answering calls for service then making traffic incidental to those duties.

At any rate, any law enforcement in Century is good, even if it is traffic; it can get bad on 29 in town. Besides, the motorcycles look cool.

Forget traffic, they need to start looking for drugs instead of speeders. They got their priorities backwards. They’ll find a whole lot more drugs than they will speeders.
