Thank goodness! I was beginning to wonder. I’m stay busy with my kids, so I really haven’t had much time to contact any of the people I went to school with. I’m glad to hear that Melvin is making a major turn around. It does my heart good to hear something positive for a change.

No, Mom, you are not the only one of your age group who grew up. I know several who are gainfully employed and staying away from drugs an out of trouble. I know of some who were involved with drugs who have cleaned up their act and just graduated from college. I’ll name one who’s doing well, Melvin Manuel, who will be participating in a professional all star football game Saturday, Oct. 2nd at Escambia High School in Pensacola. (12:00 p.m. for those who want to support a local young man who is keeping it straight.)

It’s sad that every time I get on this website I see people I went to school with going to jail. Am I the only one that actually grew up to become an adult and productive citizen? What is wrong with my generation (ages 23-26)? My husband asks me when I get on this website, “Well, which one of your classmates is in jail today?” It’s truly sad.
