This was once considered the safest way to dispose of them, but no longer. Please, please do NOT flush them. They are an environmental hazard. Trace amounts of prescription drugs have been found in water supplies. If you toss them in the trash they can contaminate soil. This program is not only good to prevent drug abuse, but it is good the environment and for the health of others. If you use pharmaceuticals, please remember this program.
