The people voted for the president for health care reform. Congress agreed on the bill and it became law." The question being asked is: Is the law legal? Not everyone who voted for President Obama voted for this particular health care reform. In fact nobody voted for THIS PARTICULAR health care reform. There are reforms which would legal under the Constitution. There are reforms which would be illegal under the Constitution. Again: The question is: Is THIS law legal? The Constitution gives the Federal Government certain powers. It reserves ALL those not ceded to the Federal Government to the States or to the People. Did Congress have the legal right to make this law? (Maybe they did, that’s why the judge is involved in the question.) Maybe this reform as produced is wonderful. Is it legal? Many don't care what is legal and what isn't. I think they would if they considered what might happen if there were no checks on Federal Power and if the right/wrong people came into power. Every law should be written as if it would be enforced by your worst enemy, because it just might. I thought we allowed laws passed by OUR representatives in the U. S. Congress by the "consent of the governed". Sadly, many Americans are unaware of this principle and are content to lose the freedoms our fathers bled and died for. Maybe civics should once again be taught in public schools. Then again, perhaps the "ruling elite" know this and don't want it taught I have been mistaken all my 60 years concerning the meaning of “We the People”.
