Carrie Meek, a Democratic Representive, from Dade County, a member of the old Democratic regime helped her son to become a State Trooper. He says in his political ads, he was the first African-American Captain on the Florida Highway Patrol. He was an aide to Lt. Governor Buddy Mckay. You can be assured he did not take a promotion test for this position. He was appointed, probably annointed, as were other State Troopers who took similar positions. The trade off is the rank will be relinquished at the end of the politicians term. After hurricane Andrew, with the assistance of his mother,he became a "community organizer." and endeared himself to the Liberty City community. He then ran for Congress in his mothers district. Life is good. I understand his Florida Highway Patrol records are sealed. If anybody can prove me wrong, I sure would like to be set straight.
