Today I worked the polls...if you didn't vote shame on you. A friend came by and told us she was tired after work and decided not to bother voting, but when she got home her phone rang and it was her brother, he asked if she had voted and she told him no, (pay attention now......) he told her to go right then and vote , that he went to the war in Iraq so we can exercise our rights as Americans......so the next election it might be your grandfather, brother, sister that made the ultimate sacrifice for you to be able to vote......if we had not fought so bravely in WWII we might now be saluting the Nazis. GO VOTE!

I have to agree with "D".

Where are all the people who are always griping about the government? The reason we keep having to choose between the “lesser of two evils” every time we go vote, is because people won’t go vote in the primary. I’d say the primary is more important than the general election when it comes to the resulting quality of government leaders. GO VOTE! And if you’re too lazy to go do your civic duty, then just smile and point your finger at yourself when you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place come November.

I voted! :)

What if your "one" vote was all that was needed to elect the worser of the two evils, then it would matter. I know it could work the other way around but i"m talkin worse case senerio. Hopefully more qualified people will throw there hat in the ring next time around. Theres only two or three who are running now that are even worth thinking about. No choice for Govenor except Ms Sink, and I don"t she can win simply because of the Good Ole Boy system.

I can remember a time when I didn't vote because I didn't feel that I had enough useful information about the candidates to vote. But also the type of work that I did wasn't a situation that would have enabled me to vote. These days it is very time consuming to research the candidates to even be able to decide on who to vote for, and even then the odds are good that most everything that you base your decision on is false. I know one thing for sure, you sure can't believe a thing you see on the tee vee or hear on the radio.

If only 30% of registered voters turn out to cast their ballots, this country is in worse shape than I thought. The only way to change anything is to take action. I have heard individuals say that their "one" vote won't matter. They are so wrong. My personal opinion is that if you don't vote, don't complain. Just sit back and go for the ride. I try to be informed so that I am able to make a choice that will have a positive inpact. Of course, politicians more often than not, are just paying lip service to get elected. But at least I know that I have made a choice.
