I am so sad to hear about this. My dad was a pipeliner, and I started with Florida Gas Transmission as an 18 year old in 1973, and am still with them today 37 years later. I have unloaded miles of pipe, and I know how dangerous that can be. Pipeliners are a true working class breed, and I am sure Steve was one of the best. We are the salt of the earth, and when one of us dies or get injured on the job, it hurts us all.
God bless the family and friends of Shorty. He would have likely been in my area laying pipe soon.

My grandpa is an inspecter now but was a welder for pipelines.I’m so sad this had to happen.God bless all the pipeliners,welders,inspecter and everyone else.please be careful.

I did this type of work for over 21 years and the comments of all of the people here about the type of people that these people are right they are just hard working men and women just trying to make a good living for their families but this accident just showsyou how fast a tagic accident can occur. His friends and family with the pipeline and his family at home will not soon forget their lose.

Prayers go out to this pipeliners family. We are a pipeline family also and send our greatest sympathy. My husband worked for Price Gregory awhile back and may have even met this person. A pipeliners work is a hard days work. They risk their lives everyday. Our thoughts are with this family during their loss.

We are part of the pipeline and this is a devistating loss to our pipeliner brothers and sisters, We may nothave known him pesonally, but still all the same he was one of us through and through. God be with brother pipeliner.

Just remember even though we mourne the loss of our pipeline brother, others who have passed before him rejoice in meeting him again.
