I was impressed with the conservationefforts in Spain.although aggravating at times they are conserving water and electricity.I saw lots of Wind Generators and fields of solar panels.Too bad we are so tied into foreighn countries for our oil and gulf power for our electricity.Everyone can do small things to cut back usage.Yes they will be tough for a little while but eventually will be normal everyday use.

Many people in this area make their living on those rigs and with the service companies, so it's not so easy to just say "no more drilling". Are you going to provide those laid off rig workers and boat captains a high paying job?

In my opinion Florida needs to also diversify it's economy so it doesn't depend so much on tourism.

the video also wont appear if you are running anything but a windows platform/operating system...forget it if you are a linux or ubuntu user...sometimes microsoft doesnt play well with others...

that being said, it is time for us to stand up to big oil and kick our addiction. sacrifice and a bit of pain never hurt anyone and in the long run we can come out of this healthier and freer than ever. the women of the american revolution learned to spin their own cloth for clothes (it was called the homespun movement and it sent a message to england that the Coercive or Intolerable Acts laws were not acceptable). we must send a message to big oil corps that fouling our home and robbing us of our livelihoods is just as unacceptable. we must not be afraid of sacrifice or doing without or doing something differently. we send our young men and women off to wars to fight for our freedom and yet we sit at home all nice and cozy and comfy afraid to sacrifice, afraid to fight? and dont marginalize what i am saying by suggesting i ride a horse to work or some other nonsense which implies i am a hypocrite. there are realistic practical things we can do on an every day basis that will get us off the big oil teat. number one is become conscious of every item you purchase. is it made of a petroleum product? can you find something made of glass or wood that would replace it? plastics heading to the trash, consider if it can be washed and reused. it may be a hassle, an inconvenience, but if we all did this it would not only make an impact on the ever increasing demand for cheap oil, it would save room at our land fills. send a message to your representatives: "no to off shore drilling".
