I agree, use of any weapon in commission of a crime should be dealt with strongly.

That said, I remember reading knives are used far more frequently in fights but guns are better at killing so even though there are more stabbings, there are more deaths due to gunshot wounds. I assume the same applies to robberies, far more likely to kill people robbing them with a gun than with most other weapons.

It already is, it’s the “10/20/Life” mandatory sentencing rule.
Personally, I think society focuses WAY too much on “evil guns” (insert sarcasm here). Guns aren’t the problem, committing violent crimes are.

It matters not to me whether the thug is armed with a gun or a pipewrench, it’s still robbery.

If more convienience store clerks were armed with their own guns, these thugs would be less likely to commit these crimes.

I hope the other one gets picked up and all three go away for the
rest of their natural life.

I believe any crime that is done with a fire arm should be taken
