You CAN file several different types of motions/documents through the clerk of the court in order to have your rights restored. Depending on your charges & what sanctions/punishment(s) the judge imposes at the sentencing hearing will depend on the length of time you may be required to have to wait before you can file these documents on restoring your rights (this date will start the day after you complete your probation or the day after you have been released from incarceration). I have worked for several attorney's in the past and have been well educated on several areas of the law and what options people may have. Generally, (Each case is handled differently depending on how the crime was committed) if you committ an act using a firearm or fired off a bullet, than you could face the possibility of a judge ordering that you will never be allowed to own, possess/carry or use a firearm under the laws of the governing state (including domestic violence/battery charges). I am sorry you had to go through this and just for the record, your neighbors have made several comments about your wife being physical and violent with you at times as if she was trying to provoke you into having to defend yourself, which has led to this now. From what I was told, this is something they seen coming a long time ago after witnessing her temper. I hate this happened to you and me and my sons personally always thought a lot of you. Anytime I was had a situation where you somehow were involved, you always handled the situation very professionally and always remained calm with solutions. You NEVER acted (Like some I know do) as if the badge you were wearing aloud you to be better than anyone else, rude or inconsiderate of others feelings. I miss you patroling the Cantonment area and regardless of what the media says, we as citizens never know the entire story and our opinions are based on what the media wants to print, which is never the entire story. If they have a story that involves an individual that was arrested, look out because no only your photo is plastered all over the place labeling you no less than a murderer, they print stuff that is not true, just to juice things up and sell a paper. They don't realize or care how if is affecting this persons life at the moment nor the families of this person. My son, who was 17 at the time was put through hell and still is chastised by the adults around him, but they don't know the real story about what happened and therefore, he has adults who make slur comments to him. He is a very caring, lovable person who has been treated pretty bad by the community due to the media and what was printed oppose to all the facts of his case. It's horrible. Take care Ed and hopfully this will pass and you can move forward and find a wife who loves you, not use you to help get financially establised & then destroy your life!!!!!!!!
