REGARDING:
"There is a store owner at 9th & Baars St. in Pensacola who has shot and killed several people who tried to rob him."

Whereupon, potential armed robbers said, "I think I'll just take my business elsewhere."

There is a store owner at 9th & Baars St. in Pensacola who has shot and killed several people who tried to rob him. His position is ---I work for what I have, they should also. There has not been a robbery there in several years and the last one was a fellow who was from out of town and didn't know that the owner is a great shot with his 45. We need more like him.

They don't call them Stop-N-Robs for nothing! Very little money available to steal, so now they rob multiple stores in the same trip. In the 60's the SO had deputies working the Pak-a-Sak stores in rotating task forces to deal with armed robbery. After a few armed robbers went DRT the incidents of armed robbery slowed to a crawl. Sounds like a good idea to me... just keep a mop bucket handy.

REGARDING:
"Mr Green, I’m confused who is the gun advice for? For those that are planning to rob innocent people, or for those who intend to defend themselves from these cowards? . . . . help criminals stay on the streets and not get caught and sent to prison."

It's for everybody but especially for those who would use guns to rob others. As far as I am concerned, they are fair game because they intentionally endanger the lives of innocent people.

Why would you think all law-abiding citizens already know and remember all about gun safety? You constantly read where someone wonders after a shooting by a law enforcement officer or person whose home was being invaded why they didn't just shoot them in the hand or foot from a hundred feet away or some such silliness, Just because you don't go around breaking the law doesn't mean you know everything there is to know about guns.

Also for those preparing to shoot them: Don't shoot to wound, intend to kill or don't point a gun at all.

If would-be armed robbers don't follow my advice they are more likely to go more quickly to their grave and Maker, if they do, they are indeed less likely to go to prison because they will decide not to go into the vocation of armed robbery or any other kind or robbery.

Good law obiding citizens would have already learnt about gun safety, so i'm guessing your advice is to help criminals stay on the streets and not get caught and sent to prison.

REGARDING:
"Two people seen leaving the Circle K at 330 Kenmore Road moments before the black male robbed that store."

They didn't happen to be the same height and build did they?

Naw, that would be too easy.

I had a neighbor who used to rob convenience stores every evening. He got two life sentences. Last I heard, he is out and practicing psychiatry or psychology in one of the Carolinas.

Use of a gun in a robbery is a violent crime. It could go off accidentally due to nervousness or intentionally out of thoughtlessness. The whole thing is a thoughtless act because it places everybody's life in jeopardy. Even a fake gun might spur somebody else to discharge a weapon and hurt a bystander.

I repeat:
Never point a gun unless you are prepared to shoot.
Never shoot a gun unless you are prepared to kill.
Always remember you may miss or the bullet go through your primary target and kill others.
Always remember a gun might not fire due to forgotten safety, dirt or bad shell or might blow up in your hand; you will find people will not be overly forgiving if you just tried to kill them.

It just takes more and more effort to earn a decent living every year. In a few years it will take 5 or 6 convenience stores to get that same $100 and by then $100 it won’ buy as much as it does now. What’s to come of folks like them?

His face was partially visible. All three locations saw these portions of his face and identified him as a black man. Why would you doubt eye witnesses from 3 different locations who identified the same thing?
