Prayer works.God is available and more than capable of handling this.If this nation prayed and kept God first in everything then we would see healing as never before.

Prayer:
Lazy way to do nothing and still think you're helping.

Kind of silly really.
God forbid you actually pitched in and helped down there.
But for those of you who wish to continue the religious theme:
We could take a tip from the ancient Mayans and Aztecs and offer up some crooked politicians as sacrifices... to whom it may concern. At least with this method we are actually doing some good involving work.
Who's with me?

Who has ever been denied the right to pray?
What is a shame is prayer being politicized. I was raised in Alabama, and I go there often. I can tell you with absolute certainty that there are plenty of people in Alabama who pray, and there are many who have prayed for all who are affected by this corporate malfeasance and it's consequences, and they certainly haven't needed to be encouraged to do so by a politician. Bob Riley has always been one to whip out a Bible and use it to advance his own agenda and this call for prayer is no exception.

how stupid can people be? prayer? that won't solve anything. it's amazing how selfish people are with their cult prayers. seriously, get out and help. being on your knees is just that. you're useless.

It is a shame that prayer has to be asked for only at a time of extreme need. Everyone should have the right to have prayer in their lives on a daily basis. i.e. in schools. People that are against the right to prayer are going to realize that there is need for this on a daily basis. I am so proud of the governor for stepping up and doing this. The oil spill is not going to just "mess up" the look of our beaches but will impact alot of people, wildlife and environment. It will be a long term effect, one which will probably last for generations. Again, I am just so proud of the governor for this, he has stated it very well. There needs to be prayer for all that have and are going to suffer from this event. God did give us this Earth to live and prosper, we need to learn to take care of it and give thanks for it.
