The certificate of eligibility is given when they provide proof of FL residency. No one is turned down as long as they can prove they reside in Florida. However, if the local VPK classes are full, they may have to travel to get their child in another class or be placed on a waiting list.

yeah none of this makes sense…I am going to look into the eligibility and if I find anything out I will report with more clarified information

As a tax payer I voted for this several years. It was suppose to be a voluntary prek for any child. No child was suppose to turned down. This was what it stated on the ballot. A child should not have to have a certificate of eligibility. When it passed it was not suppose be based on income or how much a child knows. Could some clear this up. I am concern that what we voted on is now being changed into something it was not suppose to be. I have no children but do not think a child should be turned dowm based on income or how advance they are, This is not what I voted for. All children were suppose to be able to attend if parents wanted them to do so. Any child.

why would you have to have a certicate of eligibility ? It was voted for several years ago by the tax payers. I voted for it. I believe it stated that any child that wanted to attend a voluntary prek would be able to do so. This is not right if children are allowed to come based on income. or what they know.The ballot stated any child would be able to attend. Any child. I am sure that other voters can remember this . Could some one please clear this up for me.?
