This is why we have to wait so long when we go to the doctor: they have to overschedule to make a decent day's wages when they're treating Medicaid patients. On top of this, many necessary treatments are not approved so people get sicker and sicker until they are on death's doorstep and THEN Medicaid will step in and pay. Preventative care would be so much cheaper in the long run, but that would make too much sense. After all, we're talking about the government here. Cutting payments to hospitals and nursing homes will only mean that more and more people will be denied care because these facilities can't make a profit from them. What a shame.
