SAD DAY FOR BOTH FAMILIES. SARAH’S AND MELISSA. BOTH GIRLS LOVED LIFE AND PEOPLE. I HAVE KINOWN MELISSA FOR MORE THANT 25 YEARS AND SHE IS A LOVING AND GIVING YOUNG LADY. SHE, LIKE SARAH, GIVES MANEY HOURS HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED AND ASK NOTHING IN RETURN. MAY WE REMEMBER BOTH FAMILIES IN OUR PRAYERS.

Our prayers go out to the driver, her son, Sarah’s Entire Family and Jonathan & Lindsey who where just behind Sarah and tried all they could to revive her. Sarah who I did not know sounded like a wonderful young women! Very sad. God Bless her family and friends. We will see her in heaven!

Whether it is the law or not,I always run into the traffic and watch every car that comes by.People have a tendency to veer a car in the direction they are looking,and I want to be as prepared as possible to try and get out of the way.I so appreciated all the drivers who actually move to the outside lane when they pass me,even though I am on the shoulder or in the grass when I run.I can’t imagine running at night though…

What a tragedy. I’ve known the driver for over 20 years. She is a hard working single Mom and I work for her kin. This Lady is a Good Christian Non Drug User or Alcohol. Please pray for her as well as the Family of Sarah. I can only imagine how this has hit them. Life is fleeting treat everyday as possibly your last Always be very careful in all you do because Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. God Bless

Sarah was a student at North Dakota State University. She was participating in a “Pay It Forward” service trip with the university. She had plans on going into graduate school or the peace corp after graduation. She was an avid runner. She was intelligent, grounded, and joyous. She will be missed.

Some times your time has arrived. There is a story in todays PNJ about a fellow jogging on a beach and being hit and killed by a disabled aircraft that was trying to land. I see people jogging with the flow of traffic and wonder why not face traffic and give themselves a half a chance.

lets not blame the joggers. after all florida law makes it clear who it covers and what they are supposed to do. I am not blaming anyone as I don’t know details.
everyone should look at this link to florida department of transportation and the pedestrain laws. pedestrains are supposed to travel against the flow of traffic, so this may be a factor.

I see ppl jogging down the highways all the time, like there is tons of
room. Not to mention if the driver in front of you pulls over suddenly
but had been blocking your view, then your right on top of them before
you have a chance to react. Bicyclers are the same way.
Everytime I see one, I make sure to give the driver behind me time enough
to know they will need to swing out also, but I always wonder why they
don’t jog in their small subdivisions and stay off the highways.
