(another case of "I'm from the government, I'm here to help you") It's up to the private clubs and organizations to give the course. I was fortunate enough to be an officer in a gun club that unarguably gave the most comprehensive hunter safety course in the state. Be happy that the state of Florida gives the course. As an aside to Brenda; hen's teeth are more common in Maryland than personal concealed weapons permits; perhaps that's why Baltimore City's murder rate is among the highest in the nation.
