Yes Friday was not the best day of my life, but it’s not Mrs. Perrys fault. The only reason she did that is for our saftey. We are going to get our field day back after spring break. Mrs. Perry, Dean Dumas, and any of the teachers should not get blamed for any of this. They are the ones that tried to stop it. Ernest Ward is a safe school and most all schools have fights. I’m lucky to go to a school like EWMS because they have a great facualty and staff!!

Again, the Mafia has other interests than those of their clients. The parents have the interests of their children at heart. (some don’t but then I define them away from being parents)

You admit spanking works but would remove it from the tools allowed parents to discipline their own children and then might even mock them if their children had problems later in life. I can just hear it, “well the other ways would have worked if you had done them right.”

Spanking should not be the only tool and bludgeoning is not spanking but a tool is a tool.

Interesting technique you use there, though. Comparing spanking to rape, comparing it to prostitution, to war. They aren’t the same but you equate them and include divisive religions. I can see you would outlaw religions if you had the power over others. I’m not sure how you’d exercise the power since time-outs seldom work with adults.

But war? There is no doubt that war is a bad thing and good to be avoided, but there are times when rolling over and being killed is worse. Pol Pot was intending to kill two thinds of Cambodia in the name of his non-religion of Communism and was only stopped by his invasion and overthrow via war made by Vietnam. Idid Amin was also wiping out his own people when his neighbors invaded and threw him out. Hitler was well on his way to wiping out the Gypsies, the gays and even a few Jews when he was only stopped by war.

War is a bad thing. Sometimes not making war is a worse thing.

If we accept your religious belief that spanking children is always evil, we might have to consider not doing so might be even worse in some situations. And, except in extreme cases, we might consider allowing the parents the benefit of the doubt. Especially if we can’t verifiably prove we can do better.

Spanking versus murder? Not even close. Not even a good argument. As for “some countries”–well…we are not those countries. Thank God. Yes, I said God.

A person doesn’t necessarily have to condemn someone because he/she doesn’t condone what some believe an acceptable behavior.

i think that it would be very wise if the principal or counselors reached out to the kids, especially those who witnessed this violent confrontation, and offered/encouraged them to participate in some debriefing counseling….it was obviously an extremely terrifying event for many of the kids..as i read the comment from one of the “ewms students”, it was mentioned that “nothing was said or done related to the fight yesterday”…it just sounds like there are some very traumatized kids out there now that could benefit from talking about it w/a trained professional.

I ride …. and saw that 4 of my freinds got arrested in the fight. The bus driver tryed to get one of the kids to stop fighting and thats win he got hit and knocked out. It took four teachers to hold one kid and arrest him. It was a horrible thing to see but one of the kids went by my bus smiling in handcuffs. HAHA to him un known name.

First of all, do you have a child or children? If so, I would like to know what you call them? Yes, I stated “MY CHILD” in my last comment, simply because of the fact that on this site; most of the time they don’t like you to mention (daughter, son or names of anyone).

You quoted: Nobody gives a damn about anybody else except “My Child”.

I happen to care about everybody and their safety, I don’t like to see people mistreated and I don’t like to see people in danger.. But yes as I stated! It is my child and I look out for the safety of my child, as well as others. I would not want my child to accidentally get into the middle of these fights and something really bad happen, and I am sure or else I would hope that you would feel the same way.

i go to ewms and i ride 1806 and our bus driver went over to go help out and me and some others were scared becaus ewe couldn’t see ehr so we thought she was hurt but she wasn’t. mrs. hanks got on our bus and checked to see if were okay and we were. the fight was pointless and never should have started in the first place. and middle and high schoolers shouldn’t ride togther is so stupid and i ride with high schoolers and don’t have any problems with them. we all get along. and the parents are all to blame and they shoudn’t be the won included with the blame game and actuall y nobody should. nobody is to blame. okay the students who were in it and on the bus, getting the oter bus mad they are to blame.
I’m gla dto have a principal like Mrs. Perry to run our school. She is just amazing at running our school. okay the fight, proved what a good prncipal she and got the fight stoped and had us in complete safety, until it was over. i’m personally glad to have her run our school. she makes a good school and because a fight happened dosen’t mean that its a bad school it just so happened that it just turned really bad and thanks to mrs.perry were are safe.
also DEAN DUMAS, MS. HANKS, THE TEACHERS, AND BUS DRIVERS THAT WERE THERE TO HELP AND STOP IT!!!!
I’M REALLY PROUD OF OUR STAFF AND FACUALTY AT OUR SCHOOL.

oh & i have to admit, today was like prison. but you cant blame mrs perry. she was just making sure we were safe and nothing was said or done that was related to the fight yesterday. i’m sure after spring break, people will be cool and we can be back on regular schedule.
