I have been behind the busses leaving Ernest Ward, the ones in Pensacola, busses on the route near Nokomis and not all, but many don't put out a sign until as another writer commented, the children are almost onto the edge of the road. Those of us who live here have an idea of where most of the stops are, and watch, but for those individuals who are driving through, and don't have an idea the bus is getting ready to stop, it becomes more dangerous. I am curious as to legally, how late a bus driver can wait before putting out the stop sign. Skip over calling the school or transportation about it and call Mr Thomas directly. Tell him you have called repeatedly and you need help with this dangerous situation. You can also call the DOT about it. Their job is to handle dangerous highway situations. You can also get the sheriff's office or the highway patrol in on it. Sure. We live on a 2 lane hwy & everday someone almost rear ends the bus or runs the stop sign. I havecalled & complained & called & called but nothing has been done. It just seeems like nobody even cares about kids anymore. But then if something was to happen it is not the bus drivers fault. In my case it is. The buse driver doesn't put out his stop sign till the kids are almost on the bus. So can any one give me some advise to this problem. Would love to know the cause of this one, from the driver of the pickup truck... (Texting, intoxicated, not paying attention to see something big and yellow coming at you, tired and falling to sleep?) So glad to hear that no one was hurt, but people out there on these roads need to pay more attention to what is going on on the roads instead of other things that distracts them whether it be any of the above thoughts of the accident. I guess one never knows the cause unless they were actually there, but this is getting a little scarry to even put our children on the buses... Alot of bus accidents lately.
