I have had at least 3 different school busses pull out infront of me and
cut us off in the last month. We were wondering what the deal was and were
we the only one that they just keep cutting off.

For Mary. If you think my comment was stupid, oh well. I agree you can’t miss a big yellow bus with flashing lights and we have all been taught to stop and yield to a bus when they are stopped or stopping and lights are flashing. However, what I am talking about is when a school bus pulls out in front of a 18 wheeler loaded with logs going 65 – 70 miles an hour and only about 50 to 75 yards away. They just can’t stop in that distance.Now that is stupid and putting our kids lives in danger. It’s not about being able to see the bus but the traffic being able to stop in time without hitting the bus. These buses were not stopped by the way and no lights flashing just pulling out on a busy highway in front of people. Now that is dangerous no matter how you look at it. I’m very glad you have a safe bus driver for your kids and have had no problems, but obviously there are a few bus drivers that need to be looked at more closely. And you are right about people should be watching the road and what’s in front of them not doing other stuff. But still, all bus drivers should wait until it is safe to pull out on any road when the life of any child is their responsibility.

Here is another example of..”you cant fix stupid”! I agree..how can any1 miss a big yellow bus w/flashing lights on??? texting? just what was the driver of the car doing to run into a bus??? i put my son on a bus everyday. I have put 3 other children on the bus ( they are older now) I trust the bus driver w/my son.I hear about “bus wrecks” all the time now..but i dont trust the people heading to where ever they are going!! PLZ PEOPLE…PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD!! you ca text later or put your make-up on when you get to where you are going..not while driving!!!

This will most likely make some people mad, but I’ve bit my tongue long enough. Now I’m not saying it’s this bus driver, hopefully most are safe drivers, but many times I have been going down Hwy 29 where the speed limit is 65 and a school bus will just pull out in front of anybody including 18 wheelers. The bus will be full of kids and I guess they think that everyone will just slam on their breaks for them because they are carrying such precious cargo, but I have seen many near accidents when these bus drivers do this. I have seen this several times and don’t understand what a bus driver could be thinking when we trust them with the lives of our children each day. I will not let my kids ride a school bus for that reason. I have reported this to the school board twice and they just said they would look into it. And you wonder why there are so many accidents involving school buses.

I am not surprised at this happening. I live on Jacks Branch RD and I know how people try to use this road for a race track. I could of had a grandchild on that bus. I am just thankful no one was hurt.

Glad to hear there were no injuries to anyone involved in this accident, I surely can’t see why people can’t see something that big and yellow in front of them. People please be careful and pay more attention to the road before someone is killed.

Hey now, I tend to kids in the back seat and play with the radio AND talk on my cell phone while driving because I have kids and the radio sometimes needs changing and the phone sometimes needs answering BUT……if I can’t do that without paying attention to the road, it’s time to get off the road.
There’s no excuse for not seeing a big yellow bus.
