Don’t assume because they got in trouble that they don’t go to church and their parents don’t care enough to make them behave. Even kids that go to church get in trouble because all of these kids go to church. You never know when your kid might sneak out of the house. I did a couple of times when I was a kid and I turned out ok. Never say never because they might make a liar out you!!

When I was 30 years old I said to my Mom, “Mom, thank you for loving me enough to allow me to hate you for a few years so I could, in turn, love you for the rest of my life”. I hated my parents because they would not allow me to do the things that all the other teens were doing!
I am so thankful for the horrible things my parents spared me from experiencing by saying “no” and meaning it! My parents took the hard road for themselves, by setting rules and enforcing them, and I am reaping the benefits of their hard work! It is much easier to let the kids do whatever they want to do!
It is a proven medical fact that the human brain is not fully mature until about the age of 22! The part of the brain that matures last the part that helps a person make hard moral choices. The parents job is to keep their child safe, by keeping them from situations where they have to make those choices, because they are unprepared to do so.
Parents need to grow a back bone, take the hard road for a few years (setting rules and boundaries and enforcing them) so they can enjoy the rest of their life with the respect and love of their grown children! What a blessing it is for a parent to know that they have raised a ‘good citizen’!

You can have good children without beating them to death. You learn them young and also take them to church and learn them to fear Our God ,the one that gives and takes . Teach them , that they will reap what they sow, ever man shall. No one can punish someone like God does. I am not a big time christian , but I was taught as I grew up,and I have watched people be so cruel to others and do things that I couldn’t believe. But I have watched the same people that harvest good for evil for a long time and then one day God says enough . I always brought my children up in the family way. So far they are excellent people.These young people ,just didn’t have any raising about them. I have always loved young and old people and respected them and what they owned. Where are morals and standards in these new generations,children killing their parents and grandparents ,cousins,aunts and uncles,usually for the love of money and material things. Teach them people to work for what they want and get. At 3 in the morning, my father and mother knew and even after I married and had kids knew where to get in touch with me at that time of the morning. My children have been taught the same, if you tell me you are at a certain place with a certain someone,then that is where you better be. ITS JUST COMMON SENSE AND GOOD UP BRINGING….AND LOVE

We made if very clear to our ONLY son EARLY in his life to PICK his friends carefully. It is WHO you choose as your friends and spend your time with that will make a difference in your life. As parents you must keep in touch with those that your children choose as friends and know who they are. Ask questions. Meet their friends and parents. We had boys at our house 24/7. It wasn’t easy at times and sometimes it meant a little extra financially on us but it paid off. He has great friends and to this day they remain strong, fast and true. These young teenagers must not have had this advise given to them. Now, it will be HARD…but they must break free of these BAD friendships and go their own ways. [jmo]

Yep people, spanking and correcting your children don’t mean that you don’t love them…But if you don’t correct them your not loven them. Spank, correct while they are young..or the judge and jury will.

By the way none of, I took your advice and left the net for town most of yesterday. Pensacola, World Ford, Walmart…still like the net better.

Atmore police are really aweful. My daughters best friends husband beat the beans out of her. The police took him off and promised to keep him over night. He was released a few hours later.

About a year ago, a man who was sharing a trailer with my daughter and her husband hit her and caused her to miscarry. The police were called and they told her (in front of me, because I called them to come back) that if she called them back,SHE would be arrested!

Our police department needs a kick in the pants. If no one is held responsible when they do wrong, then they will continue to do wrong. If victims are intimidated by those police, then who’s to help?

C’mon people lets get it together.

It’s the same as with the kids.
If you don’t punish the children when they do wrong, they just keep going
to bigger and better criminal activity.
If you don’t punish the adults who do wrong, then THEY just keep going
to bigger and better criminal activity.

I agree with the curfew idea. maybe it would keep kids off the streets and out of the “club” that quiet a few kids were busted drinking at. This is sad!
