I called my VFD one day to ask a stupid question..why is it dangerous to turn on an oven to warm the kitchen, but I have no problem having my oven on most all day on Thanksgiving/Christmas? Turns out that when there is food in the oven to absorb the heat it makes a big difference, also when cooking someone is in the kitchen which also increases safety. What usually starts the fire with the oven on to warm the room is that the wires to the surface elements get overheated and starts an electrical fire. The wiring in the stove gets much hotter when there is no food to absorb the heat.
