1/4 mile is what…roughly 1350 feet?

That car, even for a lowly mustang should be able to do mid high 15’s @ mid 90’s in decent air in the 1/4 mile. So if he was more than 600 feet from his driveway, he had time to accelerate to excessive speed.

Seeing as the car is newer, and seemingly in well cared for shape, I doubt that a mechanical failure is to blame, therefore it must have been driver error.

Now…Driver error entails Texting, talking on phone, playing with radio, speeding, being wreckless, driving the car beyond its limits, or in some cases, all of the above.

While I had no problems not getting in trouble with my sports car…a majority of teens simply cannot handle a sports car, they are responsible enough to drive a sports car. They shouldnt be allowed behind the wheel of a sports car legally. I went to Tate, and it was common for some kid to get ahold of something even mildly quick…then take it and put it in a ditch, up a tree, into another car…etc

Yes, you can wreck a freakin Civic….but it takes alot less effort with a sports car.

FYI….there are a lot of teenagers that have a mustang that go to Northview. Therefore, if he shouldn’t drive a mustang then the other students shouldn’t drive one. The bottom line is that the car can be replace, but never a life. Thank God you are okay, DJ. This family has been through enough with accidents within the past couple of years. I cannot understand why, or even want to understand why (in some people’s mind) that someone cannot simply say Thank God, he is okay, but can leave negative comments. Yes, it may be true that one can voice their opinions, but God give us since when, where, how, and why to voice them. May God bless everyone and remember this can happen to anyone!
