Well thats a relief to know that it is dead in the water. Its good to know that our local politicians have assured another politician that they are not bought and paid for. Did that statement exclude Mr. Rawson by the way?

We can only hope that the deligation holds to the will of the people and not continue to shove this consolidation process on us. By the way, Wilson, have you and the other county commissioners gotten that ethics and contracting bid process training yet?

THE LOCAL LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION USUALY WILL NOT TAKE A LOCAL BILL TO THE FULL HOUSE FOR CONSIDERATION IF THE LOCAL ENTITIES DO NOT SUPPORT IT. BY THE WAY I DO NOT BELIEVE OUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES ARE UNDER ANYONES CONTROL. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THEM AND THEY ASSURED ME THEY ARE NOT. HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE.

Forgive my ignorance, but if Century and Pensacola rejected this thing (for whatever reason) and the Escambia County Commision voted to delay, doesn't that mean that it apparently wasn't a good thing?

Seems to me that this thing should die on the vine.

...but maybe I'm just not as smart as our political leaders.

I can’t imagine that the city of Pensacola is rejecting this of the same reasons that we in the north end of the county hate it so much. But, I guess that the enemy of my enemy can be my friend. Well…at least until we can defeat this consolidation charade.

Just WHO is it that makes up the NW Florida legislative delegation? Aren’t they all persuaded by the Downtown Crowd?

I’m surprised that the council could muster six votes in support of this boondoggle. But then again, Pensacola would be shedding its debt responsibility to the rest of the county, and there could be some incentive for them in that. All these local government votes actually mean nothing because as Bell and his cronies stated that they have got the legislative delegation “under control,” which only means that we’ll have to face this “pig” (as another poster calls it) at the polls in November. OUT WITH THE INCUMBENTS and vote NO on consolidation!
