Boy are we making sissy out of our kids. If you are scared for the safety then why let them drive cars anyway. If they are not good enough drivers to drive in any weather then by all means keep them little darlings off the road and out of my way. I want to be safe too! and not have to worry anf your unexperience drivers (Young Kids) killing me anyway. A lot of these kid should not be driving anyway.

I for 1 am keeping my child home from school today….i dont trust the bus drivers ..they are not use to his weather..people here dont know how to drive in the rain let alone snow….YES IT WILL BE AN EXCUSED ABSENT!!!!!!!

I for one parent am very greatful that the district did not do a “knee jerk reaction” and cancel school over a little rain and cold weather. I agree if the roads were bad yes but hey this is mild compared to what we have had. You don’t have to send your kids to school but mine are going because in the “real” world I have to go to work rain, snow, sleet, or shine:>) Point made.

Parents need to make the ultimate decision on whether it is safe to venture out on the roads or not. Don’t let somebody else make it for you!

This whole situation is ridiculous! The kids had to stay home almost a week for a tropical storm and should have gone to school on that first day they let them stay out – but conditions that we are not accustomed to – they have to go to school? Seems like they have already taken all weather days and don’t want to add another day of school in the summer. I would rather my child be safe and go one more day. Seems like the school board doesn’t want to be inconvienced. I don’t know – if there is ice on the roads my children will not go to school!!!!!!

I agree with KK and Jennifer… And as far as my child having an unexcused absent, well I would much rather have that than maybe not having a child at all or even myself to take care of my family… Under extreme conditions like this, I really think that the schools should be closed, and people staying off the roads that doesn’t have the experience of driving in snow/sleet road conditions… I heard that some of the other county schools close by will be closed tomorrow…
People Take Precaution and stay off the roads if you don’t have to be on them…
