I always try to find something good in every bad situation. Today I saw parts of Brewton I had never traveled before. I was totally lost but I found my way around between Flomaton and Brewton. May God watch over everyone through this bad situation with flooding, I pray we have no loss of life.

Water has been over the road at the intersection of US 31 and 29 at Flomation, several times between 1965 – 2005. I drove that section almost ever day, working at the papermill.

Downtown used to flood all the time, until they cleared out the log jam a few years ago. I am thinking this is the first time since then, which was a few years ago.

I’m thinking it was late ’80s, but can’t remember for sure. Before that, there was a really bad flood in the 1929. and I think there was also some flooding after Hurricane Frederick. I’m sure someone else remembers better than I, though.
