Congratulations Melissa! Where exactly do you hunt close to barnetts crossroad? I hunt on the grissett rd close to monroe county. I have some pics that may be the deer alive. the pictures are not great but it looks alot like your deer.

Im not sure this was a fair hunt. I accidentally met Mrs. Hogan at her work the other day and this buck never had a chance!! I too, stopped dead in my tracks when I seen her!! Seriously though, great job Mrs. Hogan.

Congratulations! What a cool thing to share with your husband. You have the edge on allot of women!!! No kissing in the shooting house!! On a serious note. I credit teaching my grown boys to enjoy hunting and fishing and enableing them to go often with helping them grown into “Drug Free” respectable young men. It is a much greater joy to see a kid take a deer or catch a fish than stareing into a video game.

Good job!!!!! we had a 14yr old girl kill her first deer saturday also it was only a spike but by the smile on her face you would have thought it was as big as this one. I hope my 9yr old gets her chance before the end of season. This is what i like to see women and girls getting interested in the sport of hunting. i have three girls and i hope they all turn out to love it as much as i do.

GREAT JOB MELISSA!!!!! I’ve been hunting all my life and I’ve killed deer of varioes sizes and sexes and I had rather see someone like yourself or a child kill there first animal . Again great job and props go out to your husband to taking and enjoying the GREAT OUTDOORS as a family .

It was an awesome deer! I was going to shoot a doe, but my scope fogged up and when I cleaned it off and looked back through it, there he was. Didn’t look at his horns long enough to see what he was. We had to track him for about 25 yards, but once we came up on him, I think my husband was more excited than I was!! I was still in shock.
