Kart racing is a great way for someone to get started in racing. I raced karts for about 3 years. We ran in P'cola, Montgomery, Baker and actually the most on the Flomaton Speedway. For a couple years they would run the car races on Friday night and then have kart races on Saturday.

Those karts will fly. At Flomaton, in addition to the regular stock and limited divisions, they had an unlimited class that you could run pretty much whatever you wanted for a motor. I raced a second kart in that class occasionally. It had a 10-horse Tecumseh that was built to output probably at least 30hp. According to the lap times we'd turn, we would be going approximately 75-80 mph down the straightaways... (if you can call them that...)
