my brother in law was killed by a trailer coming loose from a truck and hitting him head on. When I see anything being pulled it makes me so nerveous. I am glad no one was passing by at that time, or they could have been hurt really bad or worse yet killed. I hope they do a good investigation of the situation

Appears to be about a 5,000 lb. truck and 800 lb. trailer. Probably no brakes on trailer or no brake controller on Mountaineer. Mountaineer not legally rated to pull such a load. Also appears to be a 2,000 lb. hitch on the Mercury. It was an accident waiting to happen. Good thing no one was seriously hurt. Ticket(s) probably will be part of the investigation.

I’m thankful our teenage daughter wasn’t on her way to Century to go to work at that time.

My husband said he saw this outfit drive by our home and the man’s SUV was doing all it could do to pull the load. This man should have known better and I hope that he recieves a citation and fine, This couldve turned out much worse when the trailer jackknifed, could’ve hit another oncoming vehichle.

That bridge is sooo narrow. Many times crossing that bridge
if meeting a car, truck, 18 wheeler
they will generally be on your side
of the road.

It sure should be straightened and widened before there’s a bad wreck on it.

Fortunately, nobody was injured in this crash. From the photos it appears that the trailer was loaded with a full size pick-up which would exceed a 3,000 lb load. Did the trailer have required brakes for this load? Steep hills coupled with heavy loads are true accidents waiting to happen.
