I thought that trying to get people to come to the north end of the county would be good for all the local businesses. This is not helping to promote anything at all. White is right when he says there should not be an increase at this park. How many people does it take to oversee state parks as small as Lake Stone? At least at the current rate they are breaking even. That is a lot better than it use to do.I can't see why it cost so much to start with myself when you can run a 30 ft. travel trailer for less than $10.00 a month. Running the a/c and refrig. an average of 10 to 12 hours per day. These 2 items use the most electricty in your rv. You can call EREC and they can tell you this based on my own rv as I have done just 3 weeks ago. Almost everything else in your trai;er runs off the battery source or LP gas. If the upkeep of the park cost so much do something about that. Let the state prisoners cut the grass and help keep up the park. $16.00 is way out of line in my opinion for Lake Stone. Which I know most of the saying about opinions and what they are worth. Spending 20 days there cost as much as I pay for my maintenance fees yearly at Styx River Resort in Robertsdale. And Lake Stone does not have 1/10 of the things they have. I can stay there all I need to for the year at that price and several other parks as well all over this country.
