I was in an ambulance with a dear relative on the way to Mobile where a brain surgeon was waiting to operate after I found them at home suffering from a cerebral hemmorage. People pulled out in front of us, would not pull over or anything so he died just before getting to hospital. Please honor these hard-working paramedics, and others who are trying to save someones life whether they have someone or trying to get someone help. PULL OFF THE ROAD OR WHATEVER IT TAKES TO LET THEM GET TO THEIR DESTINATION. You may be the next one in that ambulance or waiting on them to get to you; Every minute counts. I was going down Hwy 4 (on my way home) and the Fire truck was in front of me doing about 50 with its lights on. I stayed a safe distance behind and did not try to pass... other than that, I am not sure what I was supposed to do? For the record, I was not following them to the accident. I followed the truck for approx. 7 miles with it's lights going and nobody pulled over or even slowed down. Isn't it the law that you have to pull over for emergency vehicles if they are flashing their lights?? I wish northescambia would do a story on the proper ettiquete concerning emergency vehicles because I personnally was appaulled this morning! I got behind a fire truck heading to this accident.
