to the ‘local cop’ ~ Just to let you know ~ I’m not a ‘cop hater’. I know there are ones who take their job seriously and honestly, yet I also know there are some who don’t. Any time I hear a siren or see lights, I do pull over and stop ~ whether it be law, fire, or medical vehicles. But, there has to be lights and or sirens to know to do that.
And no I didn’t call my insident in….I was driving! I do not talk on a cell when driving and I actually have major issues with those who do! And when I came to a stop, the car was far enough I couldn’t read the number and I wouldn’t want to accidently call in the wrong car number.

I see there are a lot of cop haters out there. some of you make valid points, we as police officers “are not above the law”, and when we are responding to a an emergency the officer (if he is responsible) will act accordingly; ; I for one will always blow my air horn, and stop make visual contact with drivers at the intersections before proceeding…now having said that let me add this as well; I can not count how many times I have had vehicle just plain stop in the middle of the road, forcing me to veer either left or right,…..but I’m sure none of you good people have ever done that, or how many times I’ve been behind a vehicle with my lights and sirens and the vehicle fail to pull over to the right..(guess you forgot about that when you took your driver’s exam), or better yet some of you will see a police car coming with it lights and sirens on and still pull out in front of it..but thats ok too, because may you’ll get hit a get a lawsuit out of it. Now I am not saying that the deputy is right or wrong I wasnt there and neither were any of you, but before you go and start casting accusations think about your own driving and how you react when you see a patrol car approaching; do you stop, pull over to the right or get mad because you’ve been inconvienced for a few seconds. Oh and one other thing put yourself in the shoes of the person calling 911, you’ll be the first to complain because the officer was across the county and did’nt get therer quick enough to suite you

Kevin,might it be that the emergency could be called off after he gets through the traffic light????? Fishbowl,I liked your post!!! It reminds us ALL,to remember no one is above the law!!!!!!! I liked the idea of taking the info down…….but,I am afraid a lot of cop haters will take advantage and report false info…….I pray not!!!!
Please make sure the info matches the incident and that it does need reporting!!!!

KEE, your take on the incident was good for a laugh and laughter is good for the soul.

To the others commenting on Law Enforcement Officers breaking the law, every marked police vehicle has a number. Write down the number and call the appropriate law enforcement agency and report the violators. Be sure to relay every detail.

Years ago when I went through a military law enforcement academy, we were constantly reminded that we lived in a fishbowl while wearing the uniform and driving police vehicles. That the public was our boss and would not hesitate to point out our mistakes. That we were not only expected to uphold the law, but obey the law as well. If an officer receives enough complaints, eventually action will be taken.

When I see one acting inappropriately I take a picture with my cell phone and report the incident.

Of course it will be blamed on the individual and not the deputy. Don’t you know that they are always in the right?? NOT!!!! It’s like the trooper that almost sideswiped me in Pensacola changing lanes to try to get through the yellow light before it turned red! Might I add….NO lights or siren were on! If they had hit me, I know they would have blamed me and all I was doing was slowing down to stop for the light and he came out of the left turn lane all they way across to the outside straight lane….which I was in!
They all need to learn just because they are ‘law officers’ does not make them above the law!

And, “KEE” …. that’s just too funny! LOL!

It’s easy, MFGgoodSoln. They’ll say that the cruiser’s emergency lights were on and that the civilian was supposed to stop for that.

i think its funny because all the officers say they are on calls and i see them all the time turn on there lights in order to go through red lights, then u get behind them after they go through the light an they turn into a restuaraunt or something. mybe our perfect os everyoen thinks is perfect sherriff needs to address this issue. Im glad he was in the accident, im glad no one one hurt but it shows these officers that tehy are not invisible like they think. they think because they are in that car that they can do what ever well i got news for them they have ti obey the traffic laws to because the first one that ever hits me at a redlight or anything and its his fault im going to put a lawsuit so big it wont be funny.
