We live on Ashcraft, which joins Bratt Road. We are very excited about the new park! Wonder if the county will ever pave these roads. It sure would make it a lot smoother ride!

That is wonderful to see! I'd imagine there will be insurance/liability issues to be worked out with the county, so it wouldn't surprise me if the playground didn't officially open until all of the other construction is complete. I do hope it opens soon, though. My kids will love this!

Heather -- I'm not sure when the playground will be fully installed. It's being installed by the playground company, I believe. The concrete was still wet yesterday when I took the photos. They will have to finish the install, let the concrete cure, get an inspection and all that kind of stuff. Then they will have to put in the wood chips or sand or whatever bouncy surface under it.

There's not even an adequate driveway into the park yet; with a car, you'll have to park on Bratt Road and walk into the park.

I'll post another story when they take the caution tape off the playground equipment.

The park is expected to be complete with everything by early next year.

NIce. One piece of advice: use it as much as possible. In urban areas we push for parks near residential areas for if it goes unused for long periods of time it will become a problem. The more the activity the better. In fact if this park ended up with a small community of houses around it to reinforce its use the better.
