I cant believe those officers shot him either. Obviously, they should have stood there and let him run them over. I mean, what were they thinking. How dare they defend theirselves? In case you didnt know, trying to run over police officers with a vehicle justifies them using deadly force. Like it or not, if the chase starts in Alabama, they can continue across the state line. And why do some of you seem to be irritated by Atmore PD using force in Florida. If that guy had done that to Escambia FL deputies, that car would have looked like swiss cheese! Bleedig hearts, when will you learn? Don’t run from the police and they won’t chase you, and dont try to run them over. They dont wear those guns for looks!!

I live in Ohio and Danny Williams was my neice’s boyfriend. He may have been wrong to run from the police but since when does that give them the right to shoot someone. Mike Hall basically said that he deserved to be shot. Well if the Atmore Police would have stayed in Alabama instead of going into Florida where they had no jurisdiction then he would not have been shot. Once the officers left the state of Alabama they became ordinary citizens so they should actually be charged with murder. Those kind of ” officers” are what gives small southern towns a bad reputation. It seems to me that they are just out to make a name for themselves and they should be punished.

Hey rodney and City/Resident did you read the article? The patrol cars are at different positions around the car. (Look at the other pictures.) At least one behind and one near the front. The officers had exited and drawn their weapons. (that’s in the article too) They were out of the patrol cars and were approaching the car when the driver tried to run over THE OFFICERS not the car. So isn’t it possible that the officers behind the driver fired at him as he accelerated at the officer in front?

I have NO sympathy for the guy. He made some really stupid choices. He ran and that alone can get you killed. Running rarely works and it just gets the person in more trouble. He should have given up as soon as the guns were drawn. What did he think would happen if he didn’t? At least there was a chance he might live if he gave up. Very little chance if he did not.

Amen to that. I would like to know the same thing. If the guy was trying to hit a cruiser head on then why were the shots not fired then-(from the front)? There is something wrong with this case. I agree fully-Atmore should have NEVER entered into Florida without someone being shot from where they supposedly heard gunshot wounds. Anyone could have been driving by where there were supposedly shots fired and most woman would have been scared to pull over with all of the crooks that are now pretending to be cops.

Why is only the back window shot out. Did the police wait until after he went by them to fire. Isn’t that like shooting someone in the back. The Atmore police should never have come into Florida.
