I know it is not the six figure job we all want but it pays the bills and that is what many people in our county need right now. Correctional officers and detention deputies are a cut above the rest in my opinion. If you want a challenge and need a good job maybe you should consider it. The county is a little different from the state but for the most part it is the same. WE WALK THE TOUGHEST BEAT I have been a co for two years and it may be a tough job but someone has to do it. Sounds like a great job for a young person. Come on David Morgan you just told us they were all unprofessional just a couple of months ago. Has that all changed? A young man/Woman would be crazy not to take this job. 25 year retirement and real good benefits. If you started in your early twenties you could retire before age fifty. There are only a few jobs that offer that and yes they do have a very good retirement. I wish that they made more money for putting up with the worst people this county has, but maybe in time they will.
