Went down to the Elcano this afternoon at 2:00 and got on board about 4:00. It was a beautiful ship. Well worth the wait to go aboard. I would love to be a sea on her. When they unfurl the sails and cut the engines. The sound of the wind and water passing the hull. The creaking of the masts and hardware and the breeze in your face. The young Spanish cadets were very friendly and helpful and looked great in their whites. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze from the Southwest. I walked down from my house north of Cervantes St. and really enjoyed the day.

Went to tour the ship & was amazed @ the # of people waiting in line. We arrived at 3:45 & tours were closed already with 1,000 people waiting in line according to the security staff. A neat site but also a disappointment for our family. Our children were expecting to meet the crew & step onto the ship for a couple of minutes.

Went to see the ship today. Got there with kids in tow @ 3pm...waited 2 hours and was still about hour from actually getting to the ship. We gave up-it was just too hot and there was no where to buy water or anything to drink until you get real close to the ship. Oh well..enjoy the pics.
