Molino Park is doing the right thing by accepting these doors. This doesn’t lock the children in ( like a prison) but it keeps out those that are not suppose to be inside our schools with our children.

I think it is about time we have some extra security in our schools in the North end. How about cameras in the office so it can tape anyone who is on campus other than parents? You think it would never happen in a small town? Be prepared, your child’s life might be at stake. Metal detectors should also be in place. You read about children all the time taking weapons to school, just to show it off. It is better to be safe than sorry.

The next step is for Parents,Teachers and concerned tax payers to demand the use of money from the federal government reserved for our 24-7 coverage of paid paramedics and firefighters. The county already has enough people to cover this request. This cost will NOT be out of our pockets. We have been promised to have this coverage for years. A good place would be near Molino Park School so we can feel safe our children and teachers will be # 1 response. I encourage everyone to call your County Commissioner for district 5 and remind him about the grant money and we want it used for the North end 24-7 protection.

There has to be some logical explanation for Bratt turning down the doors. But what? I know that Bratt is a great school but wouldn’t this make it more secure than it already is? They do a great job of keeping our kids safe. But sometimes it only takes seconds…. Wouldn’t the new doors help? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I don’t see it as prison,I see it as one more way to keep OUR kids safe. Don’t we ALL need that peace of mind we when send them out the door each morning?

Does anyone know why Bratt Elementary turned down the installation? With the world being the way it is today, why wouldn’t they want this extra protection for our children?
What if someone like this guy they are looking for that “robbed the bank and left notes that he “may” be headed to kill people”, decided to go to a school?

FYI this is a federal grant.The money must be spent on security upgrades. Why should we turn down money that can be used to protect our biggest asset our children. Yes it may take a liitle longer to get in but when was the last time you boarded a plane or took a cruise. Security comes at a cost.

Have you ever noticed that when you read a story on NorthEscambia it is then put on Channel 3 that night or the next day? Shame, shame channel 3 for stealing. There was this thing on Rick’s blog last week where channel 3 stole one of his stories.
