In driving down to the beach, we came upon the individual was driving down the middle of the Hiway 29 with hazzards flashing. We tried to flash our lights to have them move, but quickly realized this was a bigger issue. We called 911 and the first officer arrived. The individual did not stop despite lights, sirens and PA demanding he pull over. When he stopped the first time, he stopped in the middle of the road. The officer spoke to him for a few minutes, then the individual took off! The officer went in persuit, and shortly thereafter we were joined by 1, then 3 then 7 total police officers! We thought they did an EXCELLENT job keeping folks behind the individual safe while trying to stop the person. Thank you to the officers for the quick response and the great job keeping the public safe. My sister and I called in the incident!
