That is the way things are conducted nowadays, you contribute to the campaign and your voice is a little louder than the broke guys that dont. Oh and their wives as well are making the max contributions. some quick math shows that between January 08 and July 08 he recieved over $10,500 from these business people. Oh and during the same time he recieved over $1,600 from people who live on the beach. mmmmmmmmmm smells fishy. Now why would these people be making such grand contributions unless they wanted something changed. And I believe that change is a vote to change the current zoning laws and plans. And if that happens there could be subdivisions scattered all over the place in North Escambia Co. And who is going to pay for that infrastructure to meet those demands. You guessed it, good ole us that local tax payer. The county has in place a plan for growth, it is not perfect, but it does control how fast it will happen. I believe I speak for the majority of the NorthEnd and that we all want growth and we want our property values to remain as high as possible, but we want this growth to be slow and well managed. What the campaign contributers really want is to skip that 10-15 mile buffer where the near future development is planned and come up here and buy land cheaper and develop it. Everyone needs to let Mr. White know that it is very apparent that his vote is being bought. I can assure you that there will be more to this story to come in the near future.
