Well if any of you know Greenland road and Dortch Rd, there is know way any of them were going 100mph. Most of it is dirt rd.

well said afammo. its so easy to monday morning quarterback what the cops do or don’t do when you read a story in the newspaper with less than all the facts. based on what was reported it sounds like atmore did the responsible thing and called off the pursuit when it was clear the this guy wasn’t going to stop. another day another time his time will come. oh btw don’t blame the escambia guys about response times it seems it is that way in a lot of places. too many criminals not enough cops. and its only gonna get worse. you get what you pay for and the way the economy is it’s hitting local government too.

Mr. Molino….if you had any idea where Dortch Road was you would know that they did not go too far into Florida. I’m pretty sure that the cops of Atmore did not hit the speeds of 100 MPH on the streets that they spoke about. If you are familiar with the State Line road you would know that it is natorious for kids racing on. I’m sure that was the spot where the guy on the motorcycle hit his top speeds. And State Line was correct when they said the Florida cops would not have been there in time. The nearest police station for the Escambia County (FL) Sheriffs Office is right there near Earnest Ward. Who do you think would have had the quickest response time, Atmore or ECFSO? Exactly it was Atmore. Atmore has more officers so they are able to cover larger areas. Any police officer is going to give chase any time someone runs from them….even if it was JUST a traffic offense. You need to wisen up and realize that these men and women of our local law enforcement offices are not going to make decisions to purposely put the community into harm. Don’t you think that’s why they called the chase off? So you say the Atmore cops don’t belong on the FL roads. Ok. So who were the majority of cops on scean when they cought the three robbers last week, it was Atmore. You’re welcome. Good thing you weren’t the one making that call or you and your two or three FL cops would have been standing there looking at eachother saying ” Boy I wish we had some backup. it would be nice if there was another law enforcement agency that we could call on.” I’ll get off of my soap box now. I just take it a little personal when people attack public service personnel or the military.

I live near to where the chases was. There was no reason for the bike going that fast .A child could have been hurt in Atmore or just across the line. If the cops had call the law in Fl. They wouldn’t have be here in time . Most of the time its takes them 30-45 mins to get here. We kneed more cops in Northwest Fl. Besides that the biker could have been a murder, or wrost.

What kind irresponsible deal was this? They wanted the guy for a traffic offense and chased him at 100 mph through city streets where kids could have been playing? Little old men driving to the hospital? A late school bus on the roads? And then they drive into Florida where they don’t belong and drive 100 mph on our roads? And they don’t even bother to call Florida cops? Who does Atmore think they are? It would be one thing if he was wanted for murder, but a traffic offense? Keep Atmore cops in Atmore unless we ask for them. Don’t run 100 mph and risk hurting our kids.
