There was nothing in the report that said he was 2 feet over the line. I agree that is reckless driving and should be punished. And I to have driven large trucks and farm machinery on these roads for many years and have seen so pretty stupid moves by all drivers.

Rusty- my husband and my grandfather have driven lg trucks. They also realize that they hold more responsibility on the road then the average driver. The reason you have to take a special test and hold a special license is that the government is saying that you hold more responsibility. The situation I had with a garbage truck was where he just didn’t feel like stopping at a stop sign—- would that be my fault also. I don’t think anyone is saying that all lg truck drivers are dangerous, but that the garbage company and drivers should have stricter punishment for reckless driving, because these drivers are obviously not concerned with other’s safety. Luckily in this situation no one was seriously injured and for that I think everyone is grateful!

Dear Rusty, I have driven large trucks and farm equipment on these roads and I do realize that some are narrow. The garbage truck that ran me off the road was a good 2ft. or more across the yellow line on my side of the road. The incident in which I was talking about had nothing to do with a narrow road or the size of the truck. So I can put the blame on the driver of the truck.

I don’t know how many of you have ever driven a large truck or bus but on these narrow county roads there is NO room for error. When two of these large vehicles meet at the same time it’s a near miss situation every time. And don’t put all the blame on the garbage truck, I have had school buses run me off the road also!

Has the garbage company issued any kind of statement about what is being done to rectify this? This is obviously an on-going issue and not just a random accident.

I wasn’t surprised by this. Around noon today, I was going down S.Hwy99 and a ECUA truck ran me off the road. My mom was about a half mile in front of me and said he had also ran her off the road. I wonder if it was the same driver!
