endangered or not, I just got out of the hospital friday from being bitten by one. I plan to exterminate any venomous snake I encounter. There was a time when unless they were in an area where there were people I would walk the other way. I was bitten completley by suprise, never saw it and it didn’t rattle. They are too dangerous to let live near people. They do not all behave the same but I will never take the chance again. I think most of those tree hugging venomness snake lovers must have never been bitten.

Hi Seth, I would respectfully ask that you consider that even venomous snakes are a beautiful part of God’s creation and should be given respect. They help keep the rodent population down, and they really aren’t dangerous if you keep your distance. What others have said is true. They aren’t doing well.

It’s really disappointing that people encourage this type of behavior. For a species that isn’t doing too well, the last thing we need to do is kill them off needlessly. Please take the time to educate yourselves and stop acting out of ignorance.

those snakes(eastern diamondbacks) are not aggressive,and are fading in numbers;next time just give it time to get out of your way,they just want to be left alone.meantime try maybe educating yourself a bit about the land around you and it's inhabitants.those snakes have been here a lot longer than you,me,or our ancestors.

wow!! Maybe this is a wake up call for all of us. We are all confused about Global Warming, maybe he(snake) is too. All I can say is….. Pay Attention. Start listening to Scientist who really know what is happening to our World. I have, and it is very scary we have done, and NOW is time to clean it up.

This is simply nature weeding out the weak. You see, all of the smart snakes have holed up with their better halves for the winter. This one is obviously a dumb snake, out goofing off in the middle of cold weather. Look what it got him!
