This is what I’m wondering….Once they make this transistion on February 17, 2009 (whether everyone is ready or not) and they get all the kinks worked out, what’s to stop the National Telecommunication and Information Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce from taking it from FREE television to PAY television?
We will be totally at their mercy and will either have to pay for the service or quit watching TV all together. For those of us that cannot afford cable or satalite, we just lost the option for antena.

Personally…I don’t trust anyone anymore and it seems like NOW when something changes, its usually for the worse…not for the better!

I ordered coupon, didn’t open letter till I needed it now and found coupon with expiration date back in August. Emailed TV Converter Box asking for replacement or expiration date changed. Got no response.

i have one, i hate it. when it clouds up half the chanels dont work.i can unplug it and hook my old antenna up and its clear. and iam wandering if the government is gong to buy me another one when lightning hits it this sumer, “not”. t.v. aint free anymore.

Thank you William. This is information I have not seen anywhere else. A lot of good things to know. I will now get a converter for my TV’s.
