Thank you William for this video,it is a good tribute to a good man.I have known this family most of my life and i think its great that some recognition has finally been given. Robert and family, THANK YOU!!! We will remember you in our prayers.

I have worked many fire calls and wrecks with Robert I was with Atmore Fire Dept for 14 yrs and with Atmore Ambulance during that same time and still work with the Ambulance from time and i have seen first hand his dedication to the people of the Walnut Hill area he will be truly missed at the deptment him and his family will be in my prayers

Thanks a million for the wonderful coverage you have had on Daddy and our family. You will never know how much your time and efforts have meant to us. You and your family hold a very dear place in our hearts! This video has brougt me to tears every time I have watched it. I know from personal experience the grief and heartache associated with many of the calls fire departments answer, I also know it takes a special kind of person to keep going back out on the call of duty. Daddy was never able to serve in the military, so he has served this area in a different way. He has a lot of love and respect for his neighbors and he really appreciates everything they have done for him. He never set out to be a hero or even be recognized for his deeds, so all this “press” has made us quite emotional. Mama and Sam are still a part of Walnut Hill’s Finest, going out to assist others in their times of need. I am proud to be a part of such a dedicated family and I’m pleased to say that I got my start in the Walnut Hill Volunteer Fire Department as well!
