Not just the score but the defense improved substantially, even though some of the aggressivness drawed some flags, it resulted in improved performance, and players feeling in control of the game more. Their was more team tackling, individual sacrifice for the good of the team, leadership was noticible too. I promise you West Florida knew they was played hard. Even though the Chiefs still had some trouble with the sweeps, the decision to move Reid and Killam inside was wise, there was alot more of the LB stepping up in the hole to meet the play, Grice did a good job on plays to his side. The future looks good for Levi if he continues to smell out the plays the way he does, some more refinement, and the Chiefs will have a missle on their hands, Clayton kid is in the same catagory, let them loose a little and results will amaze you. Mitchell is a force to be wreckoned with, he proved that Friday night, his hits more than make up for mistakes he may make on coverage, those hits will make his coverage easier. Safety position appears to be toss up for the Chiefs, that is going to be a weak spot for them, but with a little defensive ingenuitity, that can be controlled. Looks like the Chiefs may have brighter days next year, if they don't get bogged down in that going thru the motions mindset again, continue to challenge the coaching to constantly update the strategy to meet the players abilities and you will see the return of District Champioinships and Regional and State playoff runs before these kids are seniors.
